Plan the work

What to confirm before deployment

Plan Johor and Melaka as distinct store groups

A Southern Malaysia programme may combine Johor and Melaka, but a single state-level outlet count is not enough to schedule visits. Separate addresses into practical groups, such as Johor Bahru-area stores, other Johor districts and Melaka outlets. These are planning examples, not guaranteed coverage. OSAM assesses the proposed locations and dates before confirming the deployment.

Choose frequency around the shelf task

Repeated replenishment work may need a different visit pattern from an expiry review or a campaign display check. State the number of SKUs, expected time in store and any access windows for each outlet group. Agree which tasks can be completed in one visit and which require a promoter shift, equipment or separate permission. This avoids treating every store as an identical stop.

Sequence launches across stores

For a launch covering both states, identify when each store will receive products, price labels and approved display materials. A shared launch date is useful only when those dependencies are ready. The field brief should distinguish stock not delivered, stock available but not displayed and a display waiting for retailer approval. Each needs a different owner and follow-up action.

Review exceptions before repeating the route

Compare visit completion and outstanding issues by outlet group. Repeated access problems may call for a new appointment, while recurring shelf gaps may require distributor coordination. Photos, SKU observations and task notes can support that discussion. Send OSAM the outlet addresses, preferred dates, visit pattern and reporting fields so the proposed Johor and Melaka plan reflects the work your brand actually needs.
